Your free trial
When you register, you will be given an opportunity to trial the
service. Included in this free trial are bonus points, so you can
try for yourself the ‘one phone number’ call forwarding, and
outbound SMS, fax and voice messaging.
To try the outbound services, it will be necessary to convert the
bonus points you received when you registered. You will see the
number of points you have on each screen once logged on.
To convert your bonus points;
1. Click on the ‘Points Zone’ icon. (This
will tell you how you can earn more points).
2. Select ‘Convert Points’.
3.Click on ‘Convert points’.
Note also that when you wish to trial the ‘one number call
forwarding’ we will need a telephone contact number, for
verification purposes.
U2 Subscription
As a U2 subscriber, you can use your U2 numbers as your single
contact number and channel your calls to your mobile or fixed phone
of your choice. You can send faxes, SMS and voice messages; you can
create fax cover sheets.
Other features include
forwarding your voicemail, faxes and U2 mail to an alternate email
account, and getting your emails as faxes or SMS. You can have SMS
alerts when you receive a message, and if you don’t want to log
into your U2 account,
send SMS, fax or voice
messages using any other email agent
(eg ‘Outlook’ or
‘Eudora’)

Signing up for U2
1.
Go to 'Sign up' and select.
2.
Fill out form.
3.
Select Payment Method and you will instantly recieve your one
number contact and all details to activate your account.
Your account
All account management
aspects are self help, and available on line. Your U2 transactions
can be viewed at any time. You are able to make payments through a
secure credit card gateway, or direct debit our bank.
To manage your account;

Click on ‘Your Account’.

Divert your phone to U2
To divert your fixed line,
using
‘Telstra Easy Call,’
1.
Get a dial tone.
2.
Key in * 21 <your U2 number
(incl area code)> #.
3.
Hang up.
To disable your divert
1.
Pick up your phone receiver Key in #21#.
2.
Put the receiver down.
Note that call diversion
procedures will vary amongst telecommunications service providers.
Please check with your carrier to get the correct call diversion
procedures.
Record & change your
welcome message
Your messaging service
allows you to record your own welcome voice message and to change
your welcome message. If you want, you can record several messages,
and interchange those messages at any time.
Remember to have your user
number and personal identification number (PIN) ready. You were
allocated these numbers when you registered as a subscriber.
To record and change your
voice welcome message by phone, just follow these 4 easy steps
1.
Ring your U2 telephone number.
2.
When answered, Press #.
3.
Follow the instructions. You will be asked to key in your
user number, then your PIN.
4.
The voice prompts will step you through your options.
You may follow the voice
prompts and keep recording until satisfied with the result. When
finished, press # to save the message, which will be automatically
set as your default welcome message.
To view your message
settings and set an active welcome message from the web
1.
Click on ‘Options’.
2.
Select ‘Telephone account welcome message’.

At any time you will have
the option of setting your welcome message back to any of your
pre-recorded messages or the U2 default welcome message.
Use your U2 number as your
‘one contact number’ & channel those calls to your mobile or
fixed line
If you travel, work from
home, or you’re mobile, Unifier2 is an indispensable
communications tool to channel your phone calls. If you’re not
available to take the call, U2 will invite your caller to leave a
voice mail and deliver the message by email.
To use your ‘one contact
number’
1.
Click on ‘Options’.
2.
Select ‘Telephone Account’. Set up your telephone account
access settings.
3.
Select ‘Follow me Settings’. Manage and select your
follow me telephone numbers. This enables callers to try other
numbers to locate you.
Send SMS, faxes including
attachments
1.
Go to ‘Compose’.
2.
All your options are presented, to send an email, fax SMS or
voice message.
Send voice messages and
receive replies
With voice messages, you can
also have a reply delivered to your U2 message centre. On the
compose screen (bottom, rhs) there is a demonstration and sample
scenarios; you have the following choices;

Enter a response using the keypad

Record a voice response

Press 1 or a voice response

Keypad or voice response
Paginate SMS messages beyond
156 characters
1.
Click on ‘Options’.
2.
Select ‘Outbound
Messages’. Tools and options for handling outbound messages’.
3.
SMS Options. Set pagination options for SMS messages.
4.
Enter the maximum number of pages into which an SMS message
should be broken.
SMS Messages are paginated
(broken into pages) every 156 characters. Specifying 0 means that
the entire message will be sent, regardless of how many pages. Note
that each page (156 characters) sent is considered a single SMS
message for billing purposes.
Note the character counter
at the bottom of the compose screen.
Redirect fax and voicemail,
and emails to an alternate email account (or phone)
1.
Click on ‘Options’.
2.
Select ‘Inbound Messages’ Options to set for filtering
and managing ‘Inbound messages’.
3.
Click on ‘Redirect Incoming Messages’. Redirect incoming
messages to another address.
Here, you can also select
the options of receiving an sms alert when a message has been
received, and voicemail, faxes and voice messages delivered to an
alternate phone.
To enable the function
‘Send SMS, fax and voice messages through any email agent’.
1.
Click on ‘Options’.
2.
Select ‘Outbound messages’ tools and options for handling
outbound messages.
3.
Select ‘Send directly from your email package.’ Send fax,
SMS and voice messages directly from your desktop email program
without having to login to your web account.
4.
To enable this function, choose one of the following choices,
which are at the bottom of the screen;
• No Password
• With Password
Send SMS, fax and voice
messages through any email agent
1.
Open up a compose or forward screen in your email agent and
type your Unifier2 email address into the ‘To:’ panel.
If you set your preference for a password, type your normal
account password as the top line of the Email body panel.
The password will be removed before the message is sent.
2.
Follow steps for your selected option
For a Fax Message:
1.
Type Fax- followed by the fax number including all Area or
IDD codes into Subject panel.
E.G. (for a number in Australia Fax-0399864321)
(A number in the US Fax-+1(212)99876321)
2.
Type your message into the email body panel.
3.
Attach any faxable documents.
4.
Press "Send" and the message is on it's way.
For a SMS Message:
1.
Type SMS- followed by the

For a Voice Message:
